We teach kids aged 10-18 to program computers to do cool stuff.
It's a worldwide movement – kids’ coding clubs are popping up on every continent, so let’s code for Ireland!
Come along to the weekly group and you'll learn the brilliant Scratch programming language - or even the professional Python language. Check out the types of projects kids are doing on mit.stratch.edu. or the Irish scratch site Scratch.ie.
My name is Pól Ó Conchúir, from Blackrock. I'm a programmer by trade and my wife Tania and I set up Pizza Programmers to give kids a chance to understand how computers really work. If any parents or other adults would like to help out please contact us! We are always looking for trainers and mentors. If you know your way around a computer then you are already qualified! (We run “train the trainer” classes to get you started.)
Why Pizza?
Programmers love pizza – it seems to help them get through marathon coding sessions. Pizza Programmers lessons are two hours long so we take a Pizza break halfway through to keep up our energy!
